Connected Communities is designed to connect curricular, co-curricular, experiential, and residential experiences.

From your first year, you will begin to form close connections with friends in residence halls, peer leaders, and other students in Connected Communities programs. You will continue to build upon these first relationships and the foundations peer leaders help you create –which will strengthen your sense of community at Lafayette.

Whether you choose to identify yourself by major, sports team, club name, intramural sports team, or special interest floor; it is important to remember that all of these student groups form our greater Lafayette community.

The purpose of Connected Communities is threefold:

  1. To build a sense of class identity and College affinity.
  2. To ensure that our residential communities serve as the foundation that all other memberships and affinities build upon.
  3. To give students a common foundation of information to excel both inside and outside the classroom.

Throughout the four years of the program, students will attend a series of events that will allow them to develop competencies and gain experiences in the eight areas listed below. Each year, students will build upon their previous experiences in these areas to enhance their understanding and refine their skills.  Learn more about our modules.
